Tara Rainey is a native of San Angelo and joined the San Angelo Civic Ballet in June 2010 as Executive Director. Prior to coming to the Ballet, she served as Executive Director of the San Angelo Cultural Affairs Council. She brings with her experience in strategic planning, program development, and non-profit fundraising and management.  In her short time at the Ballet, Ms. Rainey has made significant impact by writing grants to the San Angelo Health Foundation, San Angelo Area Foundation, Eva Camunez Tucker Foundation and the San Angelo Cultural Affairs Council. Awards from these grants are supporting major equipment upgrades, production expenses, administrative and studio expenses and the opening of a new fully-equipped Pilates studio in January 2011. Ms. Rainey has served on the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board, the Downtown San Angelo Inc. Board of Directors, the San Angelo Public Art Commission, the Downtown San Angelo Art Walk committee and the Summer Arts Conservatory committee.  She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design.  After graduation she worked for numerous years in commercial and restaurant design and brand development.  Ms. Rainey is married and has two children.
